Meet U’Nesha

Therapist (English)
OFFICE LOCATION : NEW YORK
You Deserve a Space to Be Seen and Heard
Welcome to a no-judgment zone. My name is U’Nesha, and I am deeply passionate about creating spaces where compassion, authenticity, and understanding guide every conversation. Whether you’re navigating trauma, anxiety, life transitions, or identity-related stress, my goal is to help you feel safe, seen, and supported as you work toward healing and growth.
At SHIFT Your Journey™, I believe that therapy is most effective when it’s collaborative — built on trust, empathy, and respect for your story. Together, we’ll explore your challenges, reconnect with your strengths, and begin shifting toward greater balance and self-compassion.
My Path to Counseling
My journey into counseling began with a passion for supporting adolescents navigating complex systems and the challenges that come with growing up in demanding environments. Over the past two years, I have worked with youth involved in the system, helping them build resilience, develop emotional awareness, and cultivate healthy coping strategies.
I have gained meaningful experience working with young adults facing issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, academic stress, and identity development. Through these experiences, I witnessed how cultural background, family expectations, and social identity shape mental health and help-seeking behaviors — and I became committed to creating therapy spaces that honor the whole person.
My Approach to Therapy
My therapeutic approach is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and person-centered, integrating several evidence-based modalities, including:
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – Supporting clients in reframing thoughts and building effective coping skills
- Mindfulness-Based Strategies – Cultivating awareness, presence, and emotional regulation
- Person-Centered Therapy – Grounding sessions in empathy, authenticity, and respect
- Trauma-Informed Care – Recognizing and addressing the lasting impact of trauma with safety and compassion
Each session reflects the values of The SHIFT Approach™ — integrating evidence-based methods, cultural formulation, and generational emotional wealth building to foster lasting transformation.

At the Heart of My Work
I believe healing happens in spaces where we feel seen, valued, and accepted for who we are. My goal as your therapist is to walk beside you — not in front of you — as you reconnect with your inner strength and begin to rewrite your story from a place of self-awareness and empowerment.
You don’t have to navigate this journey alone. Together, we’ll shift your journey toward healing, resilience, and self-discovery.
Take the First Step
Your story matters — and your healing is possible.
 Let’s begin this journey together.
