Where Culture
Meets
Clinical Excellence.
SHIFT Your Journey® is a culturally rooted telehealth practice hiring licensed and provisionally licensed therapists. We serve Black communities and communities of color, ages 13–65, across 7 states.
We're Not Just Filling Seats. We're Building Something.
SHIFT Your Journey® is a telehealth mental health practice rooted in culture and driven by evidence. We exist to make therapy accessible, culturally grounded, and genuinely reflective of the lived experiences of the communities we serve. That requires clinicians who are not just credentialed — but aligned.
Culture Is the Foundation
We do not treat culture as an add-on. It shapes our clinical lens, our hiring, and how we show up for every client and colleague.
Growth Is an Expectation
We invest in your clinical and professional development because a growing clinician is a better clinician.
Community Is the Standard
We seek people who see community as something you actively build — with colleagues, with clients, and beyond.
Systems Enable Great Work
Administrative competence supports clinical excellence. We take both seriously and invest in both.
Clarity and Forward Motion
We value people who bring ideas, ask questions, and look for ways forward. Initiative and thoughtful action are celebrated here.
Excellence Without Apology
We hold a high bar for clinical quality and seek clinicians who hold that bar for themselves — and thrive because of it.
The Clinician We're Looking For
We seek clinicians who understand that healing happens within context — and that context includes race, identity, immigration, language, faith, and history. Cultural competence here is a lived practice, not a talking point. Select any quality to learn more.
Let's Be Real With Each Other.
SHIFT Your Journey® is not for everyone — and that is a feature, not a flaw. We are a practice where clinical growth, accountability, and cultural care are taken seriously. We thrive in structure. We move with purpose. We expect team members to balance clinical responsibilities with administrative commitments, meet documentation timelines, and engage fully in our collaborative culture.
If you are looking for a practice that challenges you to grow — clinically, professionally, and as a community-builder — SHIFT Your Journey® may be the right home for you.
Licensure We Accept
What Alignment Looks Like for Licensed Clinicians
More than credentials — alignment at SHIFT Your Journey® means bringing your whole clinical self: your training, your cultural lens, your investment in the people you serve, and your commitment to the team around you.
-
Culturally Rooted Clinical Practice
Culture is not a supplement to your clinical work — it is the lens through which you do it. You understand that diagnosis, treatment, and healing cannot be separated from a client's identity, history, and community context.
-
Trauma-Informed, Evidence-Based, Diagnostically Skilled
You bring clinical depth: accurate assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning grounded in evidence-based practice. Trauma-informed is not a framework you learned once — it is a way of being present with clients.
-
Clinically Successful and Values-Driven
You care about doing excellent work — and you understand that excellence here means both strong clinical outcomes and alignment with the mission of SHIFT Your Journey®.
-
Operational Engagement
You work within our systems, communicate proactively, and meet documentation responsibilities as a reflection of your care for clients — not as an afterthought.
-
Openness to Feedback and Continued Growth
You see your clinical development as ongoing. You welcome supervision, peer consultation, and feedback because the best clinicians are still becoming better ones.
-
Presence and Follow-Through
You are communicative, dependable, and consistent — with clients, with colleagues, and with the practice. You follow through because it reflects who you are as a professional.
What Alignment Looks Like for Growing Clinicians
You may be earlier in your licensure path — and that is not a limitation here. What matters is that you are genuinely invested in the work, in your growth, and in the communities you are learning to serve.
-
A Genuine Investment in the Work
You are not here to accumulate hours — you are here because this work matters to you. You bring curiosity, care, and a real desire to support the communities SHIFT Your Journey® serves.
-
Cultural Awareness and a Willingness to Go Deeper
Cultural competence is not a course you completed — it is a lifelong practice. You approach clients with humility, ask questions when you do not know, and are actively building your cultural fluency.
-
Openness to Supervision as a Tool, Not a Formality
You see supervision as one of the most valuable parts of this stage of your career. You come prepared, reflect honestly on your work, and use feedback to grow — not to check a box.
-
Developing Trauma-Informed Practice
You are building your clinical foundation with trauma-informed care as a core principle, actively developing your diagnostic and treatment planning skills through supervision.
-
Team Orientation from the Start
You understand that strong clinical work does not happen in isolation — especially in a virtual setting. You engage with the SHIFT Your Journey® team as a community, not just a workplace.
-
Reliability and Professional Conduct
You show up consistently — for your clients, your supervisor, and the team. You follow through on commitments and communicate proactively when you need support.
What Alignment Looks Like for Clinical Supervisors
Clinical supervisors at SHIFT Your Journey® are not just overseers of hours — they are leaders, mentors, and stewards of our clinical culture. We are looking for independently licensed clinicians ready to lead with purpose.
-
A Track Record of Leading Clinicians
You have supervised, mentored, or led clinicians in a meaningful capacity — and you have the results to speak to it. You know what it takes to develop a clinician's confidence, cultural lens, and clinical skill over time.
-
The Ability to Balance Clinical and Operational Demands
You are not just a strong clinician — you can hold both worlds. You understand documentation standards, EHR workflows, and compliance expectations without letting operational demands eclipse clinical quality.
-
A Cultural Lens That Shapes Supervisory Practice
Culture is not background context in how you supervise — it is central to it. You actively develop cultural competency in the clinicians you lead and model what culturally grounded clinical practice looks like.
-
Clinical Depth and Diagnostic Confidence
You bring substantial clinical experience including trauma-informed practice, evidence-based modalities, and sharp diagnostic reasoning. You can assess and guide clinical work with both precision and care.
-
Multi-State Licensure — or Openness to It
SHIFT Your Journey® serves clients across seven states. We actively seek supervisors who hold licensure in multiple states or who are open to pursuing it as the practice grows.
-
Investment in Clinician Development as a Practice
You approach supervision as a developmental relationship, not a compliance function. You celebrate growth, address challenges directly and compassionately, and take genuine pride in the clinicians you help shape.
