OFFICE LOCATION : NEW YORK + CONNECTICUT
Hello, I’m Vanessa — Here to Support Your Journey with Empathy and Insight
Hi, I’m Vanessa Campbell, and my path into mental health care began during my own formative years in Queens, NY. I often say psychology chose me — what started as a personal exploration during high school quickly turned into a lifelong passion for helping others navigate their emotional world with clarity and confidence.
I believe in building authentic, trusting relationships with clients across all walks of life. I’ve had the privilege of supporting individuals from age six into adulthood, working through a broad range of concerns including anxiety, depression, OCD, BPD, autism, self-esteem issues, and identity development. Each person brings a unique story, and I feel honored to walk alongside them on their journey.
My Approach to Therapy
My therapeutic style is integrative and person-centered, combining compassion with practical tools to create meaningful progress. I tailor each session to your needs while drawing on a variety of evidence-based modalities:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – Building skills to challenge negative thoughts and behaviors
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) – Enhancing emotional regulation and interpersonal effectiveness
Solution-Focused Therapy – Identifying strengths and setting achievable goals
Motivational Interviewing – Encouraging insight and commitment to positive change
Person-Centered Therapy – Centering empathy, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard
My goal is to provide a safe, collaborative space where you feel understood and empowered to grow — at your pace, and on your terms.

I work with a wide range of clients, including:
Children (10 and up)

How Therapy Can Help
Whether you’re navigating life transitions, working through emotional challenges, or seeking to better understand yourself, therapy offers a space to pause, reflect, and realign. Together, we’ll explore your experiences, define your goals, and uncover the strengths you already carry — building toward lasting, meaningful change.
My Qualifications
I earned my Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Hofstra University and my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Buffalo State University, where I also explored Sociology and Art Therapy. This interdisciplinary background allows me to understand the rich complexity of the human experience and tailor my approach with both creativity and insight.
Take the First Step
Your mental wellness journey is deeply personal, and I’m here to support you every step of the way. If you’re ready to begin, I invite you to connect with me. Let’s work together to create the change you’re seeking — with empathy, honesty, and care.
I look forward to meeting you.
Warmly,
Vanessa
