Hello, I’m Parola — Here to Support Your Growth, Healing, and Resilience

Hi, I’m Parola Alcanthe — a passionate and dedicated mental health professional with a deep commitment to helping individuals heal, grow, and thrive. My journey into the field of psychology began with a strong curiosity about how people think, feel, and experience the world. That curiosity became a calling: to support others through life’s most difficult moments with compassion and evidence-based care.

I speak English, French, and Haitian Creole, and I’m proud to support clients from diverse backgrounds and life experiences.

My Approach to Therapy

I believe therapy should be a space where you feel safe, respected, and truly seen. My approach is grounded in empathy and cultural humility, and I work collaboratively with each client to tailor a plan that honors their identity, history, and goals.

My therapeutic style blends evidence-based methods with a client-centered approach. Depending on your needs, I may draw from:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – Challenging negative thought patterns and behaviors

  • Trauma-Informed Therapy – Creating a safe foundation for healing past wounds

  • Narrative Therapy – Reframing personal stories and reclaiming your voice

  • Mindfulness and Psychoeducation – Building awareness and emotional regulation skills

Who I Support

I work with adults navigating a variety of emotional and psychological concerns, including:

  • Depression

  • Anxiety

  • Trauma and PTSD

  • Bipolar disorder

  • Schizophrenia

  • Sexual abuse recovery

  • Addictive behaviors and obsessive tendencies

How Therapy Can Help

Life can feel overwhelming, especially when you're carrying invisible pain or long-standing struggles. I’m here to offer support, insight, and a space where you don’t have to carry it all alone. Together, we’ll explore what’s holding you back and begin the process of rebuilding — with intention, care, and empowerment.

My mission is not just to help you feel better, but to help you become the version of yourself you want to be — confident, resilient, and self-aware.

My Qualifications

I hold a Master of Arts in Mental Health Professional Counseling Psychology from Immaculata University in Pennsylvania, where I built a solid foundation in therapeutic practice and psychological assessment. I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in General Psychology with an emphasis in Cognition and Instruction at Grand Canyon University. My research focuses on addictions, habits, and obsessions — with an emphasis on how cognitive processes influence behavior and healing.

Take the First Step

Healing is not a straight line, and there’s no one-size-fits-all approach. Whether you’re starting therapy for the first time or returning after time away, I’m here to walk beside you with empathy and respect.

If you're ready to begin your journey toward meaningful change, I’d be honored to support you.

Warmly,
Parola
