Creating Space for Healing, Culture, and Growth
Hello, I’m Guadalupe Vidal, a proud Mexican-American mental health counselor and clinical supervisor. I was born and raised in New York, surrounded by community, culture, and resilience — values that continue to guide how I show up for my clients and the clinicians I supervise.
As a bilingual therapist, I offer therapy in both English and Spanish, ensuring that language never limits access to care. My goal is to create a space where your story — in any language — is honored, heard, and supported.
At SHIFT Your Journey™ Mental Health Counseling, PLLC, I have the privilege of serving as both a Therapist and a Clinical Supervisor. I support clients navigating life’s transitions while also guiding new clinicians as they develop confidence, self-awareness, and a strong clinical foundation rooted in cultural understanding.
Supervision, to me, is a partnership, a process that blends mentorship, accountability, and growth. It’s about helping others discover their voice as clinicians while building the tools to serve diverse communities with compassion and excellence.
My Approach — Centered on Culture, Connection, and Care
My work is deeply influenced by The SHIFT Approach™, which integrates evidence-based care with cultural awareness and emotional wealth building. Whether in therapy or supervision, I lead with empathy, curiosity, and respect for each person’s lived experience.
In Therapy
I believe that therapy is both a place of healing and empowerment. I work collaboratively with clients to explore how cultural identity, family dynamics, and personal history shape their emotional world. Together, we find strategies that help you move forward with greater clarity and self-trust.
My clinical approach draws from:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Building awareness of thoughts and behaviors that impact well-being
Trauma-Informed Care: Understanding the effects of past experiences on current emotions and relationships
Solution-Focused Therapy: Identifying strengths and creating practical steps toward progress
Relational and Family Systems Work: Healing patterns within relationships and family dynamics
I work with:
Latino/a/x clients navigating identity, acculturation, and generational expectations
Individuals managing anxiety, depression, and communication challenges
Clients overcoming trauma and life transitions
Young professionals and students balancing culture, career, and personal growth
In Clinical Supervision
As a Clinical Supervisor, I view supervision as a shared journey, one that allows emerging therapists to grow both professionally and personally. My role is to help clinicians develop the skills and insight needed to provide ethical, culturally informed, and client-centered care.
In supervision, I focus on helping clinicians:
Strengthen their clinical reasoning and self-awareness
Understand how culture, bias, and identity shape the therapeutic process
Integrate theoretical frameworks into practical, compassionate care
Build confidence in managing complex cases and ethical decisions
Supervision is where growth takes root — and it’s an honor to guide clinicians as they evolve into grounded, skilled, and culturally mindful therapists.
The Heart of My Work
I see therapy and supervision as opportunities to create ripple effects of healing — within individuals, families, and communities. Every time a client finds their voice or a clinician steps into confidence, it strengthens our collective emotional health.
At SHIFT Your Journey™, we believe that healing is generational work. The work we do today shapes the well-being of those who come after us — and I’m deeply honored to be part of that legacy.
