Associate Therapist, MHC-I
OFFICE LOCATIONS : CONNECTICUT + NEW YORK
Welcome,
Taking the first step toward prioritizing your mental health requires courage, and by seeking therapy, you’ve already begun the process of advocating for your well-being and personal growth.
My name is Edilys Encarnacion. I view the therapeutic relationship as a collaborative process, where we work together to explore and address the challenges you’re facing, and move toward achieving your full potential.
My approach is rooted in creating a safe, non-judgmental space where you can openly express yourself and begin the healing process. I have experience working with adolescents and young adults in both educational and mental health settings, where I’ve supported individuals managing eating disorders, depression, anxiety, trauma, and other mental health challenges. My goal is to meet you where you are, building upon your strengths and supporting your overall emotional and psychological well-being.
I believe in a holistic approach to therapy, one that acknowledges the complex interplay of factors such as race, gender, ethnicity, and culture in shaping your identity and experiences. Together, we will work to understand the unique aspects of your lived experience, identify and challenge maladaptive thoughts, and develop adaptive coping strategies that promote lasting positive change.
My therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing from evidence-based methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, and Strengths-Based Therapy to tailor the treatment process to your specific needs. I am committed to providing a compassionate, client-centered approach that empowers you to build the resilience and skills necessary for long-term mental wellness.
I am passionate about supporting individuals in their journey toward self-discovery, healing, and personal growth, and I look forward to partnering with you in this process.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out—I’m here to support you on your path to mental well-being.
