Here to Empower Your Healing, Growth, and Self-Discovery

Hi, I’m Antionette Wells — a therapist passionate about guiding children, teens, and adults through life transitions, emotional challenges, and the pursuit of personal growth. I believe healing begins with connection: empathy, trust, and a safe space where individuals feel seen, heard, and empowered.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that everyone has the capacity to heal and thrive. I work alongside my clients to help them explore emotions, navigate life’s hurdles, and begin rewriting their stories with purpose and confidence.

My Approach to Therapy

I draw from evidence-based modalities to tailor therapy to each individual’s needs. Depending on what you’re navigating, I may integrate:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – Challenging unhelpful thought patterns and building healthy behaviors

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) – Fostering emotional regulation, mindfulness, and interpersonal skills

  • Trauma-Informed Care – Creating a safe space to heal past pain

  • Mindfulness Techniques – Cultivating self-awareness and present-moment clarity

My work is centered in empathy, empowerment, and cultural responsiveness. I take pride in walking alongside clients as they transition from survival to stability — and eventually, to a place of growth and transformation.

Who I Support

I specialize in working with:

  • Adolescents and young adults navigating identity and life transitions

  • Former collegiate and professional athletes redefining life after sports

  • Individuals healing from trauma, addiction, or chronic stress

  • Clients experiencing anxiety, depression, or emotional dysregulation

  • At-risk youth transitioning to independence

My clinical experience spans diverse populations and settings, always with a focus on meeting clients where they are and empowering them to reclaim their voice and path forward.

A Bit About Me

I was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, where values of resilience, compassion, and community shaped my life. I earned my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Webster University and my Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice from Wichita State University. I currently serve on the Advisory Board of Charity Services Midwest, supporting community initiatives focused on self-sufficiency and growth.

Outside of the therapy room, I’m a lifelong learner, a traveler, and a lover of vinyl records and scented candles. Nature, photography, and football (go Kansas City Chiefs!) are my reset buttons — ways I recharge and stay connected to the present moment.

As a former collegiate and professional athlete, I bring the discipline, focus, and humility learned on and off the court into my therapeutic work. These experiences continue to shape how I show up for my clients — with resilience, purpose, and unwavering support.
